Herb Casserole Bread
Herb Casserole Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~), 2 pkg. dry yeast, 2 tbsp. sugar, 2 tsp. salt and 2 tbsp. soft butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine first five ingredients in a warm bowl and stir until butter is melted and all ingredients are well mixed.
Stir in cheese.
Add 3 cups flour and mix well.
Beat in remaining 1 1/4 cups flour.
Cover bowl with damp towel and let rise 45 minutes or until batter doubles in size.
Stir down; beat 1/2 minute or 25 strokes.
Turn into buttered casserole dish (1 1/2 to 2-quart). Sprinkle top with grated Romano cheese.
Bake at 375Β° for 55 minutes.
Serve warm with pasta dishes.
