Heavenly Pie
Heavenly Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar, 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar, 4 eggs whites, 3 tbsp. shredded coconut (optional) and 4 egg yolks, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Heat oven to 275°.
Sift one cup of the sugar with 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar.
Separate eggs and beat whites until they stand in stiff, but not dry peaks.
Slowly add sugar, beating until the sugar is dissolved.
When meringue makes stiff glossy peaks, spread it over the bottom and up the sides, just to the rim of a well-greased 9-inch pie pan.
Have the bottom about 1/4-inch thick and the sides about 1 inch thick.
Sprinkle coconut around the rim, and bake for one hour at 275°.
It should be light brown and crisp. Cool away from drafts.
