Hearty Cheese Grits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 c. water, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 1/2 c. uncooked regular grits, 1/2 c. butter or margarine and 4 c. (1 lb.) shredded medium-sharp cheddar cheese, divided, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Combine water and salt; bring to a boil.
Stir in grits; cook until done, following package directions.
Remove from heat.
Add butter and 3 3/4 cups cheese; stir until cheese melts.
Add a small amount of hot grits to eggs, stirring well; stir egg mixture into remaining hot grits.
Pour grits into a lightly greased 2 1/2-quart baking dish.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup cheese; bake an additional 5 minutes. Yields 8 servings.
