Butter one large baking sheet; set aside.
In iron pan, combine sugar, syrup and water.
Cook over medium-high heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
Add raw peanuts and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches hard-crack stage.
Add butter and mix until well combined.
Sprinkle baking soda over mixture, stirring constantly.
Immediately pour mixture onto prepared baking sheet.
Hold sheet at angle to make candy spread.
