Old-fashioned hard candy poured onto buttered foil and shattered into shards. Pick any flavoring you like; the texture is pure cracking glass.

Mix sugar, karo and water in saucepan. Place over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils.
Cook without stirring until mixture forms a hard ball.
Add coloring and flavoring.
Pour onto a greased sheet.
After it hardens, cut with scissors or break into pieces.
Roll in powdered sugar.
