Green Mountain Gingersnaps
Green Mountain Gingersnaps is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar, 1/4 c. molasses, 1 egg and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream shortening in bowl.
Add sugar, molasses and egg.
Mix thoroughly.
Sift remaining ingredients together.
Stir into creamed mixture.
Roll into small balls; dip in additional sugar. Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375Β° (preheated) for 10 minutes.
They will still be soft when you take them out.
They firm as they cool.
Makes about 5 dozen.
