Green Beans A La Peggy is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (no. 303) can blue lake variety green beans, 1 tbsp. bacon drippings, 1 clove garlic, 1 small onion and 1/4 stick butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Saute chopped onions and garlic in bacon drippings.
Add drained green beans and 1/2 can of water.
Cook in saucepan over low heat for 1 hour.
Make the topping from melted butter, bread crumbs and pecans, stirring constantly over low heat.
Put in serving dish and sprinkle topping over heated beans, but the topping does not need to be hot when served.
Serves 4.
