Granny's Bean Goulash
Granny'S Bean Goulash is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. dried pinto beans, 2 small slices salt pork, 2 tbsp. bacon drippings, 1 clove garlic and salt and pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

After soaking beans overnight, boil with pork, bacon drippings, garlic, salt and pepper.
Cook until beans are barely tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
In a large skillet, brown hamburger, onion, pepper and celery.
Brown until onions begin to turn transparent.
Add garlic powder, chili powder, tomatoes, salt and pepper.
Simmer about 10 minutes and add to beans.
Cool, ladle into 1 quart freezer containers.
Label, freeze.
To serve
Thaw and place in a Dutch oven.
Simmer until juice is thick.
Serve with cabbage slaw and cornbread.
