Grandma's Oatmeal Cake
Grandma'S Oatmeal Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. quick oatmeal, 1 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. margarine, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Pour boiling water over oats; add margarine.
Cover and let stand 10 minutes.
Stir in eggs, vanilla and sugars.
Add dry mix. Bake at 350Β° in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan for 35 minutes.
When it comes out of the oven, sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar (1/2 cup white sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon). This is a very moist cake so a toothpick test won't work.
