Grandma's Cheddar-Crust Apple Pie
Grandma'S Cheddar-Crust Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 3/4 c. grated extra sharp cheddar cheese (3 oz.), 1/2 tsp. salt, 3 tbsp. shortening and 1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Mix 2 1/4 cups flour, salt and cheese.
Cut shortening and 1/2 cup margarine into flour mixture.
Sprinkle 4 to 6 tablespoons cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it forms a ball.
Shape into two balls.
Flatten one and wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate.
Roll out other ball and place in pie plate; cover and refrigerate 30 minutes.
