Grandma's Boiled Pot Pie (Chicken or Beef)
Grandma'S Boiled Pot Pie (Chicken Or Beef) is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. all-purpose flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 egg yolk, 3 to 4 tbsp. milk (to mix to form ball) and 1 to 1 1/2 qt. beef of chicken broth (needed for each portion of dough), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine flour, salt, egg yolk and milk as needed to form dough ball (as pie dough).
Flour surface and roll dough round and thin as possible.
Cut dough into 2 1/2 to 3-inch squares.
Remove meat from broth.
Bring to a full boil and drop flakes one at a time. Do not drop on top of each flake; go from one side of pot to the other until each flake is wet.
Reduce heat; cook 20 minutes or until flakes are dropping below broth.
Be sure heat stays at slow boil.
Cook 40 to 45 minutes or to desired thickness.
