Grandma Letty'S Cheese-Baked Halibut is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. halibut steaks, cut 3/4-inch thick, 1/4 c. lemon juice, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/8 tsp. pepper and 1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Preheat oven to 375Β°.
Lightly grease a large shallow baking dish.
Wipe halibut with damp cloth; place in dish.
Pour lemon juice over fish, then sprinkle with salt, pepper and thyme.
Bake, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine cheese and bread crumbs.
Sprinkle fish with cheese mixture, then melted butter. Return to oven and bake 20 minutes longer or until fish flakes easily with fork.
Serve right from baking dish.
