Grandma Claudy's Cherry Sauce
Grandma Claudy'S Cherry Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sugar, 2 tbsp. cornstarch, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 c. butter or margarine and 2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

In a pan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Pour reserved cherry juice in measuring cup and add enough water to measure 2 cups. Gradually stir water into sugar mixture. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly for 5 minutes or until thickened. Cut cherries in half or quarters.
Add cherries once mixture has thickened. This can be made ahead and reheated just before serving. Makes about 4 cups.
