Grandma Carbonara's Spaghetti Sauce
Grandma Carbonara'S Spaghetti Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. lamb shanks, cut into 2 to 3-inch pieces, meatballs and/or light sausage, 1 large can tomato sauce, 1 large can tomato paste and 2 cloves chopped garlic, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Brown lamb shanks.
When almost cooked, add onions and garlic. Cook a minute, then add tomato sauce and paste.
Simmer until all is tender. Add the oregano, basil and parsley.
Let simmer 2 to 3 hours, adding water if needed.
About 1/2 hour prior to serving, place meatballs and sausage in sauce which has already been 3/4 cooked.
