Gold Angel Food Cake

Beat yolks good; add water and beat again.
Gradually add sugar, then vanilla.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt 4 times and gradually add to mixture.
Beat egg whites stiff with cream of tartar and fold into mixture.
Bake in ungreased tube pan for 300Β° for 1 hour.
