German Red Cabbage is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. margarine, 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced, 1 small onion, chopped, 1 head red cabbage, shredded and 1 c. red wine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Melt margarine in Dutch oven.
Add apples and onion; saute. Add cabbage, wine, cloves and sugar.
Pour vinegar over cabbage first to prevent it from losing red color.
Simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
