German-Italian Beans
German-Italian Beans is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. german sausage, cut in bite size pieces, 1/2 lb. italian sausage, cut in bite size pieces, 2 medium onions, sliced and separated into rings, 1 lb. fresh green beans, halved and 1 tsp. crushed sweet basil leaves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Place sausages in skillet; brown on all sides.
Remove sausages from skillet.
Add onions and beans to pan drippings. Cook over moderate heat, stirring, until onions are transparent. Add basil, savory, salt, pepper, consomme, mushrooms and potatoes; mix well.
Return sausages to skillet.
Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for about 30 minutes, or until beans and potatoes are done.
Liquid can be thickened with cornstarch, if desired.
Serves 6.
