Fudge Sauce (Hot Or Cold)(1 Pint) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. butter, 2 (1 oz.) sq. bitter chocolate, dash of salt, 1 1/2 c. sugar and 1 c. less 2 tbsp. evaporated milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Heat butter and chocolate over simmering water in double boiler until melted.
Stir in salt, then the sugar in four or five portions, being sure to blend thoroughly.
The mix becomes very thick.
Now stir in milk, very slowly.
Then cook 5 to 6 minutes longer, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Store in refrigerator in a container with tight fitting lid.
To use hot, set jar in warm water for 30 minutes.
