Fruit-Turkey Salad
Fruit-Turkey Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 head iceberg lettuce, 1/4 c. salad oil, 2 tsp. vinegar, 2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. sweet basil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Core, rinse and drain lettuce.
Chill in plastic bag.
Reserve 4 whole leaves for lettuce cups; shred enough lettuce to make 4 cups.
Set aside.
Blend oil, vinegar, salt, basil, garlic powder and pepper.
Combine with turkey or chicken, onion and tomato; toss gently to mix.
Arrange lettuce cups on 4 salad plates.
Add shredded lettuce, then top with turkey mixture.
Garnish with avocado slices and tangerines or orange sections.
Serve at once. Yield: 4 servings.
