Fruit Nut Bread
Fruit Nut Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1/2 c. lukewarm water, 2/3 c. evaporated milk, 3/4 c. boiling water and 2 tbsp. butter or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
Pour boiling water and milk into large bowl with butter, oats, molasses and salt.
Stir in yeast mixture and add to oat mixture.
Add half of the flour and beat until well blended.
Work in the rest of the flour with the fruits and nuts.
Blend well.
Cover bowl and let dough rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until double in size.
Punch down and form into two loaves.
Put into 2 greased loaf pans, 5 x 9 x 3-inches.
Let rise about 1 hour or until dough reaches top of pan.
Bake in a moderate oven at 375Β° for 45 to 50 minutes, or until well browned.
Cool on racks.
Makes 2 loaves.
