Frozen Waldorf Salad
Frozen Waldorf Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs, beaten, dash of salt and 1 c. chopped celery, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Drain pineapple; reserve juice.
In a saucepan, combine juice with sugar, eggs and salt.
Cook, stirring until slightly thickened.
Remove from heat.
Stir in pineapple, celery, apples and pecans.
Fold in whipped cream.
Pour into 9-inch square pan.
Cover and freeze.
Let stand at room temperature for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Cut into squares or serve on a lettuce leaf.
