Fried Green Tomatoes
Fried Green Tomatoes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 medium green tomatoes, 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal, 1/4 c. flour, 2 tsp. salt and few dashes of pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cut tomatoes into 1/2-inch slices.
Mix cornmeal, flour, salt and pepper; dip both sides of tomato slices into mixture.
Heat oil in a skillet until sizzling hot.
Put in tomatoes and cook quickly until browned on underside.
Turn tomatoes carefully; reduce heat and cook until thoroughly hot and soft through center. Remove to paper towels to drain.
Makes 4 servings.
