Fry 2 slices of bacon in a heavy, 4-quart pot.
Add the fresh peas.
Cook, covered, on medium heat, stirring often.
They will "steam fry" for about 20 minutes.

Add salt (to taste) and enough water to cover the peas (or to make the amount of pea "juice" that you want).
