French Puffs
French Puffs is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. soft shortening, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour and 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Mix together thoroughly the shortening, sugar and egg.
Set aside.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
Add to shortening, sugar and egg mixture alternately with the 1/2 cup milk.
Fill muffin pans 2/3 full.
Bake at 375Β° for 20 minutes. Makes 10 to 12 muffins.
When thoroughly baked, roll in the melted butter and then in the sugar/cinnamon mixture.
