French Onion Soup
French Onion Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 onions, sliced very thin, 1/2 c. butter or margarine, 2 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. sugar and 4 tbsp. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Saute onions in butter in covered skillet until soft.
Uncover and add salt and sugar; cook 15 minutes.
Stir in flour and cook 3 minutes longer.
Combine onions, consomme, water and wine in a crock-pot.
Cook on low 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
Serve in bowls with bread and cheese melted on top.
This recipe is doubled.
Cut it in half for a smaller portion.
