French Custard Toast
French Custard Toast is an easy dinner. Made with 3 eggs, 4 slices day old french or italian bread and 1/4 c. oleo or butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Beat eggs slightly in a shallow pan and add a dash of salt. Cut bread diagonally about 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick.
Place bread in egg mixture and soak for 15 minutes on each side.
Heat oleo in a large skillet and fry bread slowly (about 5 minutes each side) until brown.
Serve hot.
You may use syrup, honey or jam over bread, or sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
