Melt cream cheese, butter and Cheddar cheese in a pan either over hot water or over very low heat, stirring until smooth.
Cool to lukewarm.
Beat egg whites stiff and fold into the cooled cheese mixture.
Cut bread into 1-inch cubes.
Dip each cube into the cheese mixture.
Using a fork, swirl it around to coat completely.
(Often, you'll have to spread cheese mixture on bread with a knife.) Place on greased sheet and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 400Β°.
