Flour Tortillas
Flour Tortillas is an easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 2 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 c. lukewarm water and 1 tbsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Place flour, salt and baking powder in mixing bowl.
Add shortening and mix well.
Add lukewarm water and blend well.
Turn out on lightly floured board and knead at least 50 strokes.
Divide into 12 equal sized pieces and form into balls.
Cover with a cloth and let stand 15 minutes.
Roll each ball into a round tortilla, about 8 inches in diameter.
Cook on moderately hot iron grill, ungreased, turning once.
