Mix flour, baking soda and salt.
Cream together butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla.
Add egg and cream until fluffy. Blend in milk.
Add dry ingredients. `Drop by teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with the bottom of a glass which has been dipped in sugar. Bake at 400Β° for 12 minutes.
Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
