Fail-Proof Meringue
Fail-Proof Meringue is an easy dinner. Made with 3 egg whites, pinch of salt, 6 tbsp. sugar and 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
First, dissolve 1 tablespoon cornstarch in 2 tablespoons cold water in small saucepan.
Add 1/2 cup boiling water and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Remove from heat; let cool.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, beating well after each.
Add salt, vanilla and cornstarch mixture.
Spread over pie, being sure to seal the edge.
Bake at about 350Β° for about 15 minutes.
