Esther's Orange Marmalade Cake
Esther'S Orange Marmalade Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. cake flour, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 1 c. unsalted butter, softened, 2 c. granulated sugar and 3 large eggs, at room temperature, lightly beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Preheat oven to 325Β°.
Butter and flour two 9 inch round cake pans; line with wax paper, shaking out excess flour.
In a bowl, sift flour, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, beat the butter with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs, orange zest, and vanilla. Beat in 1/3 of dry ingredients alternately with 1/2 of the buttermilk until combined well.
Add half the remaining dry ingredients and the remaining buttermilk, and beat until combined well.
Finally, beat in the remaining dry ingredients.
