Epicurean Beef is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. beef chuck or stewing beef, cut in 2-inch chunks, 1 c. california burgundy or other red dinner wine, 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans condensed beef consomme, 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Combine beef, wine, consomme, salt, pepper and onions in casserole.
Mix bread crumbs with flour and stir into meat. Cover and bake in a slow oven (300Β°) for about 3 hours or until beef is tender.
Serve over rice or noodles of your choice with a tossed salad and fresh, hot French bread for a delicious, hearty "feel good" meal.
