English Toffee(Microwave) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/3 c. sugar, 1 c. melted butter (no substitute), 1 tbsp. light corn syrup, 2 tbsp. water and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Combine sugar, butter, syrup and water in a 2-quart glass baking dish.
Microwave on High for 10 to 12 minutes until caramel colored, stirring twice.
Stir in vanilla quickly.
Pour in greased 9 x 12-inch dish.
Sprinkle chocolate on top and, when softened, spread evenly.
Sprinkle with nuts, if desired. Remember: Use only real butter!
When cool, break into pieces.
