Easy Homemade Rolls
Easy Homemade Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening (yellow crisco), 1 c. boiling water, 2/3 c. sugar, 2 tsp. salt and 2 pkg. yeast, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Put the shortening into a large bowl and pour the boiling water over the shortening.
To this, add sugar and salt; mix and cool to 105° to 115°.
Mix yeast with 1/2 cup water (105° to 115°) and 1 teaspoon sugar.
Mix and let bubble.
Let set 5 minutes.
Add eggs to cooled shortening mixture, then add yeast mixture and flour last.
Mix well on mixer or by hand.
Cover and set in refrigerator 1 1/2 to 2 hours or up to 1 week.
Take out and shape in favorite rolls.
Spread with melted butter.
Let rise until double in size. Bake at 425° for 12 minutes.
Do not overbake.
Also makes great cinnamon rolls.
