Divinity
Divinity is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sugar, 1/2 c. cold water, 1/2 c. white karo syrup, 2 egg whites, room temperature and 1 tsp. vanilla extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
When syrup is at hard-ball stage, pour syrup in mixture slowly, beating egg white all the while.
I use a hand mixer. Continue beating until the shine is gone and mixture drips from the mixer blades in a small ribbon.
Immediately pour in chopped nuts mixing well with a spoon.
You can pour in a pan buttered or pan spreading immediately.
You can also drop by spoonfuls onto a sheet of waxed paper sprayed with Pam.
It helps if you have someone to pour the syrup while you beat.
