Dill Pickles
Dill Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 peck cucumbers (small), 3 pt. vinegar, 1 1/2 c. salt, 4 1/2 qt. boiling water and 9 tbsp. dill seed or dill weed (fresh), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Put boiling water, vinegar and salt into a large pot.
Bring back to a rolling boil.
Remove from heat.
Put cucumbers in pot and let stand for 5 minutes.
Remove cucumbers with a drip spoon. Pack cucumbers in 9-quart jars.
To the jars add the dill seed, garlic, 1/4 red hot pepper and alum.
Reheat liquid and then pour over cucumbers and seal jars.
