Deluxe Pound Cake

Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one.
Add vanilla.
(Total beating, 10 minutes.)
Add cake flour, alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
Pour batter into well-greased 10-inch fluted tube pan.
Bake in 350° oven for 1 1/2 hours or until cakes tests done.
(If you use a dark-colored fluted tube pan, reduce temperature to 325°.)
Cook in pan on rack 15 minutes.
Remove from pan; cool on rack.
Dust with confectioners sugar.
