Sift together dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and salt); set aside.
Mix eggs, 2 cups sugar, orange juice, vanilla and oil, then mix with dry ingredients.
Peel apples, cut into small pieces for inside of cake.
Add 1/2 cup sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon.
(Save some to sprinkle on top of cake when it is done.) Bake 1 hour at 300Β°.
