Deer Roast

Trim roast of all fat and connecting tissue.
Brown meat in shortening in a Dutch oven.
Sprinkle with seasonings.
Place 1 tablespoon soup mix over meat and the remainder in bottom of pan. Pour water around meat and cook, covered tightly, at 325Β° for 2 hours until tender.
Remove meat to heated platter.
Add flour to pan drippings; blend well.
Add milk; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Serve with roast.
