Roll half of pastry; put in deep dish pie plate.
Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, allspice and salt.
Add sugar mixture to apples; toss to coat apples.
Put apple mixture in pastry-lined dish; dot with butter.
Adjust top crust.
Seal and flute edge. Cover edges with foil.
Bake at 375Β° for 30 minutes.
Remove foil; bake for 25 minutes more (until crust is golden).
