Date-Nut Fingers
Date-Nut Fingers is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 tsp. salt, 3 egg whites, 1 3/4 c. sifted confectioners sugar, 1 tbsp. enriched flour and 2 c. broken pecans, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Add salt to egg whites, beat to stiff foam.
Sift sugar with flour, add to egg whites, one tablespoon at a time.
Continue beating until very stiff.
Fold in nuts, dates and vanilla.
Drop from teaspoon onto cookie sheet covered with plain paper, shape in fingers; bake in slow oven at 300Β° for 30 minutes.
Makes 2 dozen.
