Crusty Biscuits
Crusty Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. flour, 2 tbsp. sugar, 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar, 1 tbsp. baking powder and 1/3 c. shortening or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Mix flour, sugar, cream of tartar and baking powder.
Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Mix in egg and milk, stirring just until moistened.
Knead 10 times on floured surface and pat to desired thickness.
Cut with floured cutter; place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 425Β° for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
(Also excellent baked in an ungreased frying pan over low heat on charcoal or gas grill.)
