Creole Sauce
Creole Sauce is an impressive American dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 22 minutes. Made with c. olive oil, c. onion, chopped, c. green pepper, chopped, c. celery, diced and garlic, minced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Heat oil in saucepan.
Add onion, green pepper, celery and garlic and saute over medium heat until tender; do not brown.
Add tomatoes, tomato purée, bay leaf, thyme, salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours.
Taste for seasoning.
May need some sugar to cut acidity of tomato products.
Add shrimp, scallops or any other seafood item.
