Creamed Peas
Creamed Peas is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 18 minutes. Made with c. cooked peas, . butter, . sugar (optional), . flour and . cream, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Wash beans well, cover with water 3 to 4 times height of beans, bring to boil, then simmer 1 hour or until bean skins slip off easily.
Drain and rinse twice.
Place in baking dish, add remaining ingredients and then water to well above top of beans. Bake at 300° for 2 hours, then at 275° for 3 hours.
Check to make sure liquid covers beans, but do not stir.
Leave in oven overnight.
Reheat the following day.
