Cranberry Bread

Sift dry ingredients together.
Combine orange juice, peel, shortening and enough water to make 3/4 cup liquid.
Stir in egg. Pour into dry ingredients.
Mix just enough to dampen.

Spread into pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inch, higher around the outside edges.
Bake at 350Β° for 50 to 60 minutes. Slices best the next day.
