Country Buttermilk Biscuits
Country Buttermilk Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1 c. buttermilk, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Combine flour, salt, soda and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening until fine.
Add buttermilk, stirring quickly, until mixed.
Turn out onto floured board and knead gently several times.
Form into a ball and pat out 1/4-inch thick.
Spread with half the butter.
Fold over, forming 2 layers.
Brush top with remaining butter.
Cut into rolls with floured biscuit cutter. Place 1/2-inch apart in buttered 9-inch pan.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes at 400Β°.
Serve with butter.
