Cornbread Casserole
Cornbread Casserole is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 1 onion, chopped, 1 can tomato soup, 2 c. water and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Brown beef and onion in skillet.
Add soup, water, seasonings, corn and green pepper; mixing well.
Simmer for 15 minutes.
Fill well-greased casserole 3/4 full, leaving room for topping.
Mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, buttermilk, egg and fat.
Pour on top of casserole.
Bake for 20 minutes at 350Β°.
Topping will disappear into beef mixture and rise during baking.
