Company Wilted Cabbage
Company Wilted Cabbage is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 slices bacon (lean), 1 medium onion, finely chopped, 1 tbsp. butter, 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper to taste and 2 tbsp. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
In a large skillet, brown bacon until crisp.
Drain off fat and wrap bacon in paper towel.
Set aside.
Saute onion in butter or bacon fat.
Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper to taste.
Add 2 tablespoons water.
Shred the cabbage and add 2 tablespoons vinegar; add to the rest of ingredients in skillet except bacon. Steam all until cabbage is tender.
