Cog Au Vin
Cog Au Vin is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 12 minutes. Made with bacon, (6 oz.) sliced mushrooms, flour, salt and pepper and garlic, crushed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Fry bacon until crisp, drain and crumble.
In a bit of bacon grease, saute onions and mushrooms, then remove from pan. Lightly dredge chicken in flour, salt and pepper.
Add butter to frying pan and brown chicken.
Remove to casserole and sprinkle with garlic and herbs.
Add bacon, onions and mushrooms and pour on wine.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for one and one-half hours. Serves 4 to 6.
