Classical Latvian Salad
Classical Latvian Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large leaf lettuce or boston (never iceberg or romaine), pinch of sugar, salt to taste, 1/3 c. cream (if cream is too thick, dilute with buttermilk or milk) and 1/2 tsp. lemon juice (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix sour cream with all seasonings and chopped greens.
Place 2/3 lettuce in salad bowl.
Pour dressing and mix gently. Refrigerate for 15 minutes to blend tastes.
Add the other 1/3 lettuce.
Mix lightly and serve at once.
At this point, can add sliced cucumber and/or radishes for color.
But never, never tomato, green pepper or other.
